Opera at Jimbour FAQs
Opera at Jimbour - FAQs
What’s new this year?
Opera at Jimbour has evolved into a full weekend of activities, giving travellers more up close and immersive experiences in and around the grounds at Jimbour House. The program includes a wide range of concerts to attend, guided tours of Jimbour House, and access to camping, food and arts markets.
We are also offering ticket packages for the first time. These bespoke ticketing packages offer 15% off on individual tickets and are specially tailored to make the most out of your visit by experiencing two or more of our marvellous events.
What kind of performances can I see?
Opera at Jimbour has 4 distinct concert offerings across the 25 – 27 June weekend: 1) two Galas (featuring different repertoire) on the Eastern Lawn, 2) Drawing Room Recital (inside Jimbour House) and 3) an evening chamber music concert at the Hangar. Please see the Schedule for more details.
What’s the difference between the Saturday and Sunday Gala performances?
Opera Queensland have curated two different sets of repertoire featuring their stellar cast of soloists. If you love your opera hits, we recommend trying to attend both as they will be completely different shows!
When will the full cast be announced?
We will be announcing the full cast of Principal artists from Opera Queensland in mid-April. Follow Queensland Music Trails on Facebook to stay in-the-know!
What should I bring to Opera at Jimbour?
The warm winter sun at Jimbour can have some bite to it so remember to pack a hat and plenty of sunscreen. Seating is provided at all of the concerts so there is no need to bring picnic rugs or chairs. And don’t forget to bring a printed or digital copy of your tickets!
What time should I arrive?
Once you’ve purchased your packages or tickets, make a note of the start time to the events and aim to arrive at Jimbour Homestead at least one hour before the concert start time. This will give you ample time to find parking, do your COVID check-in requirements, and leisurely grab a drink before going into the performance.
If you are staying for the weekend (eg. camping) it is advised to arrive at the Jimbour event grounds 20 minutes before the start of each event to allow ample time to do your COVID check-in, grab a drink at the bar and be seated.
