The Little Green Road to Fairyland
Enjoy this magical fairytale for the littlest lovers of dance and music.
Set in the Australian bush, The Little Green Road to Fairyland takes the audience on a charming musical journey with colourful sets and costumes that will delight all ages.
Inspired by the original 1922 tale by Annie R. Rentoul and Ida Rentoul Outhwaite, this whimsical production will spark the imagination of our youngest audiences with a tale of love, hope, compassion, and a touch of fairy magic.
Soprano Kristin Berardi, along with Paul Boyd’s mesmerising choreography and Elena Kats-Chernin’s original score will enchant audiences of all ages.
Prior to the Brisbane season, we’ll be enchanting little ones throughout Queensland with a very special regional tour of the live performance in Roma, St George and Goondiwindi.
Queensland Music Festival and Queensland Ballet have partnered with local councils to deliver a series of dance and visual art workshops in regional schools to explore and extend upon the themes of The Little Green Road to Fairyland.
This project is presented in association with Balonne Shire Council, Goondiwindi Regional Council and Maranoa Regional Council, and has been assisted by the generous support of Tim Fairfax AC and the Pavetta Foundation; and Regional Arts Services Network, an initiative of the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland. Goondiwindi and Roma performances are supported through the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and councils to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
